| 05 October 2004 NorthLink Ferries today (Tuesday, October 5) announces its timetable and tariff structure for 2005.
The new schedule has been drawn up following a formal consultation process involving all interested parties, including customers, the Scottish Executive, MSPs, Orkney and Shetland tourist boards, the Northern Isles’ councils, and local business forums. In real terms, NorthLink’s fares remain as before. However, a 2.5% increase - in line with inflation – will apply across the rate card. A thirty per cent discounted rate will continue to apply for residents of the Northern Isles and special rates for local schools, community groups and other concessionary rates will still be available.
