BREAKFASTS AT SEA BENEFIT CANCER CHARITY
04 April 2006

NorthLink has raised more than £2300 for Cancer Research UK (Scotland) by donating all breakfast takings from Friday, March 31 to the charity as part of its nationwide All Day Breakfast fundraising event.

The restaurants on-board all three of NorthLink’s passenger vessels - Hamnavoe, Hrossey and Hjaltland – offered special breakfast meal options throughout the day, featuring locally sourced ingredients such as Shetland smoked salmon.

Elaine Tulloch, marketing projects manager with NorthLink Ferries, said: “I would like to thank Aberdeen-based Craig Group’s Catering and Marine Services for their support in this fundraising initiative and for their generous donation. This event built on the success of previous years and we are delighted with the sum raised.”

Cancer research has been an issue close to the hearts of NorthLink staff and crew since Ingrid Rosie, a young member of Hamnavoe’s crew, died from the disease three years ago.
