| NORTHLINK PRODUCES NEW TOURISM ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITY | |
| 11 July 2006 NorthLink Ferries is producing a new consumer guide for 2007 which, for the first time, will include commercial advertising opportunities - with full classified advertising sections as well as pictured accommodation listings. The move comes as Calmac assumes responsibility for the Northern Isles ferry services, which will continue to be branded as NorthLink. The aim of the consumer guide is to give industry operators the opportunity to come on board with NorthLink as the company continues its drive to increase the exposure of the Northern Isles as a quality holiday destination. The new 60-page guide will be built around extensive destination features on Orkney and Shetland and will include event listings and information on where to stay and what to see and do, as well as NorthLink timetable and fare information for 2007. With a 100,000 print run, the new guide will provide the key response to enquiries generated by NorthLink’s TV, radio and press advertising campaigns. It will also be available on request over the website, which is now generating over 80,000 hits each month. The Orkney and Shetland guide will feature at all trade and consumer exhibitions attended by NorthLink throughout the year – launching at World Travel Market in London in November - and will be distributed to all its travel agent contacts in the UK and overseas. It will also be racked across Scottish tourist information points, on-board NorthLink’s three ships and in all its ports. Elaine Tulloch, marketing projects manager for NorthLink Ferries, said: “The new guide offers a very effective advertising opportunity with potential for excellent return on investment for operators choosing to work with NorthLink.” Space is limited and the deadline for securing advertising space is Monday 31st July 2006.
