17 March 2009

NorthLink staff brought a splash of Red Nose Day colour to the Lerwick Ferry Terminal on Friday when £252.54 was raised as part of Shetland’s contribution to the national charity fund raising effort.

Exotic Fruit Sellers distributing fruit and sweets in Lerwick for Comic ReliefNorthLink terminal staff Jane Leask, Charlene Moffat, Caroline Thomson, Kathryn Fullerton and Yvette Pearson greeted passengers dressed as exotic ‘fruit sellers’ and distributed fruit and sweets to customers checking-in and making bookings.

Service Manager Jane Leask said: “Our customers were terrific. After they had got over the initial shock at the colourful scene confronting them when they arrived at the terminal, they were more than happy to stump up the cash in exchange for fruit. I’d particularly like to thank Patricia Yeamans of Burra who won our Guess the Celebrity competition and immediately handed over her £15 prize to the charity fund.”
