MASTER

REPORTING TO

PRIME RESPONSIBILITY
The job holder’s first line of responsibility is the safety of the ship and passengers and crew at all times.
To ensure the provision of an efficient and reliable service by the ship whilst at all times applying principles and rules as laid down.

 

MATE/MASTER

IN CAPACITY OF MASTER

PRIME RESPONSIBILITY
The job holder’s first line of responsibility is the safety of the ship and passengers and crew at all times.
To ensure the provision of an efficient and reliable service by the ship whilst at all times applying principles and rules as laid down.

IN CAPACITY OF CHIEF OFFICER

REPORTING TO
Master

PRIME RESPONSIBILITY
The first consideration of the Chief Officer must be to the safety of the ship and the lives of the people on board.   This will best be met by competently performing his duties in a responsible manner, duly observing the company’s Health and Safety Policy, Environmental Policy, M. Notices, Statutory Instruments, Codes of Practice and the relevant Fleet Regulations complemented by the Standing Orders issued by the Master.

 

CHIEF OFFICER

REPORTING TO
Master

PRIME RESPONSIBILITY
The first consideration of the Chief Officer must be to the safety of the ship and the lives of the people on board.  This will best be met by competently performing his duties in a responsible manner, duly observing the company’s Health and Safety Policy, Environmental Policy, M. Notices, Statutory Instruments, Codes of Practice and the relevant Fleet Regulations complemented by the Standing Orders issued by the Master.

 

SECOND OFFICER

REPORTING TO
Chief Officer

PRIME RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible to the Master for the safe navigation of the vessel incorporating Masters Standing Orders, Fleet Regulations, Night Orders and relevant ‘M’ Notices during navigational watch.
Keeping records of all L.S.A. & F.F.A. up to date and in good order with monthly check lists.
Responsible for all passage planning.
Chart corrections relating to Admiralty Weekly Notices.
Night on board, duty mate.  Ensuring that Port & Company regulations are adhered to.
In charge of  boat deck for Abandon Ship.
MES Controller - starboard side - Phase 3.
In charge of the Rescue boat.
In the event of fire... Bridge.
General Emergency... Bridge.

 

THIRD OFFICER

REPORTING TO
Chief Officer

PRIME RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible to the Master for the safe navigation of the vessel incorporating Masters Standing Orders, Company Management Manual, and relevant ‘M’ Notices during navigational watch.
Assisting 2nd Officer in ensuring all L.S.A. up to date, in good order and with monthly check lists.
Must ensure that Port & Company regulations are adhered to.

 

BOATSWAIN

REPORTING TO
Master / Chief Officer

PRIME RESPONSIBILITY
The first consideration of the Chief Petty Officer must be to the safety of the ship and the lives of the people on board. This will best be met by competently performing his duties in a responsible manner, duly observing the company's Health and Safety Policy, Environmental Policy, M Notices, Statutory Instruments, Codes of Practice and the relevant Fleet Regulations complemented by the Standing Orders issued by the Master and Chief Officer.

 

ASSISTANT BOATSWAIN

REPORTING TO
Officer of Watch
Boatswain

PRIME RESPONSIBILITY
The first consideration of the Chief Petty Officer must be to the safety of the ship and the lives of the people on board. This will best be met by competently performing his duties in a responsible manner, duly observing the company's Health and Safety Policy, Environmental Policy, M Notices, Statutory Instruments, Codes of Practice and the relevant Fleet Regulations complemented by the Standing Orders issued by the Master and Chief Officer.

 

ABLE BODIED SEAMAN

REPORTING TO
Officer of Watch
Boatswain

PRIME RESPONSIBILITY
The general maintenance of the ship as directed by the Boatswain.
Assisting with the mooring and anchoring of the ship.
The maintenance of his accommodation in a clean and tidy condition.
Any other duties assigned to him by the Boatswain.

Boatswain

PRIME RESPONSIBILITY
The general maintenance of the ship as directed by the Boatswain.
Assisting with the mooring and anchoring of the ship.
The maintenance of his accommodation in a clean and tidy condition.
Any other duties assigned to him by the Boatswain.
