CHIEF ENGINEER
REPORTING TO
Master – For Vessel Operational Issues
Technical Manager – For Professional and Technical Issues
PRIME RESPONSIBILITY
The job holder is responsible for the safety and efficiency of all machinery and technical aspects of the ships operation to the Master and technical manager.
This person will ensure MCA and CLASSIFICATION SOCIETY operating requirements are met with at all times whilst also applying the principles and rules as laid down.
FLOATING CHIEF/SECOND ENGINEER
IN CAPACITY OF CHIEF ENGINEER
REPORTING TO
Master, Technical Manager
PRIME RESPONSIBILITY
The job holder is responsible for the safety and efficiency of all machinery and technical aspects of the ships operation to the Master and technical manager.
This person will ensure MCA and CLASSIFICATION SOCIETY operating requirements are met with at all times whilst also applying the principles and rules as laid down.
IN CAPACITY OF SECOND ENGINEER
REPORTING TO
Chief Engineer
PRIME RESPONSIBILITY
The job holder is responsible to the Chief Engineer for the safe and efficient running of the engine room and all other machinery spaces on the ship.
This person will work in conjunction with the Chief Engineer to ensure MCA and CLASSIFICATION SOCIETY operating requirements are met with at all times whilst also applying the principles and rules as laid down.
SECOND ENGINEER
REPORTING TO
Chief Engineer
PRIME RESPONSIBILITY
The job holder is responsible to the Chief Engineer for the safe and efficient running of the engine room and all other machinery spaces on the ship.
This person will work in conjunction with the Chief Engineer to ensure MCA and CLASSIFICATION SOCIETY operating requirements are met with at all times whilst also applying the principles and rules as laid down.
THIRD ENGINEER
REPORTING TO
Chief Engineer and Second Engineer
PRIME RESPONSIBILITY
The jobholder is responsible to the Chief Engineer and Second Engineer for the safe and efficient running of the engine room and machinery spaces while on watch.
While on board ship this person will work in conjunction with the Chief and Second Engineer to ensure that MCA and CLASSIFICATION SOCIETY operating requirements are met with at all times whilst also applying the principles and rules as laid down.
FOURTH ENGINEER
REPORTING TO
Chief Engineer and Second Engineer
PRIME RESPONSIBILITY
The jobholder is responsible to the Chief Engineer and Second Engineer for the safe and efficient running of the engine room and machinery spaces while on watch.
While on board ship this person will work in conjunction with the Chief and Second Engineer to ensure that MCA and CLASSIFICATION SOCIETY operating requirements are met with at all times whilst also applying the principles and rules as laid down.
ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
REPORTING TO
Chief Engineer
PRIME RESPONSIBILITY
The job holder is responsible to the Chief Engineer for the safe and efficient running of all of the electrical equipment on board the ship, except that covered by the electronics officer.
This person will work in conjunction with the Chief Engineer to ensure MCA and CLASSIFICATION SOCIETY operating requirements are met with at all times whilst also applying the principles and rules as laid down
MOTORMAN
REPORTING TO
Second Engineer and Engineer Officer of the Watch.
PRIME RESPONSIBILITY
The job holder is responsible to the engineer officer of the watch to assist with the safe and efficient running of the ships machinery.
While on board ship this person will ensure that all work and emergency duties are carried out in accordance with the guidelines.
