NorthLink Crewing (Guernsey) Limited is currently recruiting for:
Temporary ETO (Fixed Term Contract)
Start Date: ASAP to 30th June 2012
Closing date for applications: 29th February 2012
£41,551 (Pro-rata)
Applications are invited for the position of onboard Temporary ETO based in the north of Scotland. The successful candidate will be required to work on all vessels within NorthLink Ferries fleet on a two weeks on two weeks off basis.
Applicants must hold a valid ENG1 Medical and the following certification:
- STCW95 Personal Survival Techniques
- STCW95 Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (3 day only)
- STCW95 Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities
- STCW95 Elementary First Aid
The following certification would be advantageous:
- Proficiency in Survival Craft & Rescue Boat
- Marinark
- Crown Management
- Security Awareness
Previous experience as an electrician would be required and previous experience and knowledge of marine electrical systems is desired.
Key Dimensions
- Responsible to the Chief Engineer for the safe and efficient running of all of the electrical and technical equipment on board the ship.
- Ensure that all necessary maintenance and repair work is carried out in a timely manner and to standards required by the company.
- Ensure sufficient spare parts and stores are carried on board for the planned voyages and advise the Chief Engineer when any spare parts for the ship's electrical systems are required.
- Ensure the Chief Engineer is informed of any electrical problems that may affect the ships machinery performance and efficiency.

Chef Tournant (Various Fixed Term Contracts between March and June 2012)

Applications are invited for the position of seasonal Chef Tournant within the NorthLink Ferries fleet.
Applicants must hold a valid ENG1 Medical and the basic STCW95 certification which includes:
- Personal Survival Techniques
- Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities
- Elementary First Aid
- Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (3 Day only)
Crowd and Crisis Management and Elementary Food Hygiene would be advantageous. Previous sea going and hotel chef experience would be an advantage.
- You will prepare, serve and store products according to Company Procedures , maintain personal and galley hygiene levels, assist with stock taking and will also assist in receiving and checking stores.
- You will a t all times provide courteous and prompt service in a professional manner and you will have the control and responsibility of items and equipment place within the designated work areas.
- Duties may vary depending on vessel and as required by the Executive Chef.
- A shift pattern will apply and this will normally consist of 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off.

Steward/Stewardess (Fixed Term Contract)
Start Date: March 2012 to 30th June 2012

£20,728 per annum (paid pro-rata)
Applications are invited for the position of seasonal Steward/Stewardess within the NorthLink Ferries fleet. You may be required to sail on any vessel within the fleet therefore may be required to join the vessel in Lerwick, Aberden, Kirkwall, Stromness or Scrabster.
Applicants must hold a valid ENG1 Medical and the basic STCW95 certification which includes:
- Personal Survival Techniques
- Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities
- Elementary First Aid
- Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (3 Day only)
Crowd and Crisis Management and Elementary Food Hygiene would be advantageous. Previous sea going and hotel experience would be an advantage.
- You will provide an efficient and effective service to passengers and crew, vessel cleaning and hygiene and any other associated duties as required.
- In addition to having high standards of personal presentation you must be able to adapt to the wide range of tasks undertaken within this department.
- You must be customer focused, have a clear understanding of the customer interface and have a proactive approach to customer care.
- A shift pattern will apply and this will normally consist of 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off.
