RSPB

Orkney is a birdwatchers paradise, with 13 nature reserves looked after by The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, ranging from seacliffs and farmland to wetland and moorland. With Shetland and Orkney being the first and last stopping point for migrating birds, the Northern Isles see many unusual visiting birds! There are guided walks on many reserves between May and August, with a chance to enjoy wildlife watching with the experts on most days of the week. Also, on the Hamnavoe on Saturdays during the summer, talk to an onboard RSPB guide, who will point out (and tell you all about) the seabirds seen on the crossing!
