NorthLink Ferries amends ferry services due to severe weather conditions

Serco NorthLink Ferries has cancelled its sailings on Thursday 5 December 2013 from Aberdeen and will sail on an altered schedule on Friday 6 December 2013 to maximise passenger travel opportunity North to Orkney and South from Lerwick.
This evening’s sailing of the MV Hrossey from Aberdeen to Orkney and Shetland has been cancelled. The vessel will now sail tomorrow morning (Friday 6 December 2013) at 1000hrs to Kirkwall only, returning to Aberdeen as scheduled at 2345hrs. There will be no southbound passenger sailing from Lerwick on Friday at 1700hrs.
Accommodation is available in Aberdeen on the ferry this evening, with passengers asked to board as normal if they wish to use this service. There will be an alternative opportunity to board from 0815am tomorrow, with check in closing at 0915hrs.
Passengers booked to travel to Lerwick on this evening’s sailing will be able to take advantage of the overnight accommodation in Aberdeen before travelling North on the Friday scheduled service to Lerwick. Friday’s sailing will depart as per timetable at 1900hrs.
Tonight’s southbound sailing has been delayed and the MV Hjatland is currently expected to depart at 0300hrs tomorrow morning, arriving in Aberdeen at 1500hrs. Passengers are asked to board as normal.
This afternoon’s Pentland Firth sailings are cancelled today and the 06:30 Stromness to Scrabster 08:45 Scrabster to Stromness on Friday are under review.
Today’s freight sailings have been cancelled although our Freight vessels are positioned in both Aberdeen and Lerwick and will resume normal service as soon as weather conditions allow.
