In September, NorthLink Ferries put on a fundraising RNLI cruise from Aberdeen. Early in November, NorthLink staff (Captain Stewart Gunn, Fiona Anderson and Peter Hutchinson) visited Aberdeen lifeboat station. Money raised from the cruise will go toward purchasing new lifejackets for the Aberdeen and Montrose RNLI crews - making everyone's lives safer at sea!

The RNLI Open Day in Lerwick on Saturday 4th June was a great success, with a record amount of £10,350.00 raised. A total of 458 passengers joined the NorthLink Ferries cruise around Bressay on MV Hrossey. The lifeboat came alongside and demonstrated a ‘man overboard' safety exercise, where the NorthLink fast rescue boat lifted two men safely out of the water. Meanwhile, the public areas of the ship were kept busy with live music, teas and sandwiches, stalls and a raffle.

Well done to all involved! The efforts made by Captain Dave Wheeler, Hotel Director Lorrain Burrows, the Hrossey Crew and the Lerwick CSA team, was very much appreciated by the RNLI.

A small change can make a big difference! During NorthLink's annual refit period, sockets in all cabins were changed to new angled sockets, following customer feedback that the previous sockets didn't allow space for some plugs to fit. Now all plugs will fit!
