The South Isles of Orkney, hugging the natural anchorage of Scapa Flow are distinctive due to the visible scars of the Second World War. The Churchill Barriers, once an anti-submarine causeway, link Burray, Lamb Holm (where the Italian Chapel is located), Glimps Holm and South Ronaldsay to the Orkney mainland.
