Orkney Nature Festival Cruise

RSPB Orkney Nature Festival Cruise 2014 on MV Hamnavoe
Published: Sunday 18th May 2014

The finale to the Orkney Nature Festival was a wildlife watching boat tour on the MV Hamnavoe on the 18th May 2014. As well as spectacular views and wonderful wildlife to watch out for, there was a finger buffet on board, Highland Park Whisky tasting, music and wildlife displays, commentary from RSPB Orkney and a talk from EMEC’s (The European Marine Energy Centre) Neil Kermode.

The cruise went from Stromness up the west coast of Orkney to Marwick Head – a route with very dramatic scenery that the ferry hasn’t taken since the ferry to Shetland called in at Kirkwall instead of Stromness. For this reason the cruise was extremely popular – many passengers asked NorthLink Ferries to put on another cruise in the near future!
