Early Disruption Warning to Customers
Present weather forecasts indicate the possibility of disruption to our services from Sunday 15th March through to Tuesday 17th March.
More detailed updates will follow daily as forecasts are updated.

Please be aware of traffic delays due to roadworks on approach to Aberdeen City centre. Please ensure you allow plenty of time to arrive for check-in.

Check-in opens 120 minutes prior to departure at Aberdeen and Lerwick and 90 minutes prior to departure at Hatston, Stromness and Scrabster.

Check-in closes 30 minutes prior to departure at all ports and if you have not checked in at least 30 minutes prior to departure you will not be allowed on board.

Car drivers are recommended to check-in at least 1 hour prior to departure.

Pentland Firth Arrivals and Departures

M.V Hamnavoe

  • Arrived in Stromness at 20:31

Monday 16th 

  • Due to forecasted adverse weather conditions, all AM sailings are now cancelled.
  • All PM sailings are currently under review with a high probability of cancellation.
  • An update will follow tomorrow morning.

Aberdeen Arrivals and Departures

M.V Hjaltland

  • M.V Hjaltland was scheduled to depart Aberdeen sailing for Kirkwall (Hatston Pier) and Lerwick at 17:00.
  • Due to forecasted adverse weather conditions, M.V Hjaltland departed at the earlier time of 14:54 sailing for Kirkwall (Hatston Pier) and Lerwick.
  • M.V Hjaltland is scheduled to arrive in Kirkwall (Hatston Pier) at 21:00 and depart at 21:45 or as soon as cargo operations are completed sailing for Lerwick.
  • ETA in Lerwick is 07:30.

Kirkwall (Hatston Pier) Arrivals and Departures

M.V Hjaltland

  • Was due  to arrive in at Kirkwall (Hatston Pier) at 23:00 sailing from Aberdeen.
  • Due to adverse weather conditions, MV Hjaltland is expected to arrive at 21:15 sailing from Aberdeen.
  • The next scheduled departure from Kirkwall (Hatston Pier) is the 21:45 sailing to Lerwick on Sunday 15th March.
  • Passenger and Vehicle Check-in opens at 20:00.
  • Final passenger and vehicle Check-in is at 21:15.
  • All vehicle drivers are recommended to check-in at least 1 hour prior to departure.

Lerwick Arrivals and Departures

  • NorthLink is currently operating a temporary timetable to accommodate the drydock of each passenger vessel.
  • The next scheduled arrival in Lerwick is the MV Hjaltland at 07:30 on Monday 16th March which will then depart at 19:00 sailing for Aberdeen.
  • Passenger and vehicle Check-in opens at 17:00
  • Final passenger and vehicle Check-in time is 18:30
  • Vehicle drivers are recommended to check-in at least 1 hour prior to departure.
  • Passengers are reminded to bring their booking reference numbers.
  • Arrival in Aberdeen is scheduled for 07:00 on Tuesday, but due to the adverse weather, this may be subject to minor delay.
