Salary:  up to £30,787.89 depending on experience 
Schedule: Full time, 42 hours per week – shift pattern of 7 days on and 7 days off once training is completed

As a Security Officer in our NorthLink Ferries team, you’ll help keep our Port Facility safe, secure, and welcoming for every customer who travels with us. Your work will have a direct positive impact on ensuring safe operations and delivering a trusted experience for passengers and colleagues.
This is a role where your attention to detail and commitment to great service support a safer future for our port community. You’ll play a key part in maintaining a secure environment, protecting our facilities, and helping us uphold the highest standards of maritime security.

What you’ll do as a Security Officer

You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Monitor and maintain access control to the NorthLink Ferries Port Facility.
  • Record and maintain accurate logs of activities, incidents, and searches.
  • Identify and report developing security incidents within the Port Facility.
  • Support baggage handling and provide excellent customer service to travellers.
  • Review and contribute to improvements in our security provision.
  • Carry out any other duties required by the business.

Does this sound like you?

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security) requirements or a willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence – preferred but not essential.
  • STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers) training – preferred but not essential.

As well as checking eligibility to work in the UK, you will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to help us identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
