Aberdeen, otherwise known as the Granite City, is a busy port in the North East of Scotland. Easily reached from cities in the south such as Glasgow and Edinburgh, getting to Aberdeen and catching a ferry is one of the most convenient ways to travel to the Orkney and Shetland islands.
The city itself has much to offer though. It’s a hub for the North Sea oil industry – the seaport is the busiest in Scotland and Aberdeen Heliport is one of the busiest commercial heliports in the world! Aberdeen is a popular destination – there are great shops here, superb restaurants and lovely places to stay. You can catch regular pop concerts and theatre performances in Aberdeen, and the city has two excellent centres of learning – the University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University.

However, there is also plenty to uncover in the city of Aberdeen itself – you won’t have to look far to find an interesting place to explore!
