February 2024 NorthLink news round-up
Friday 1st March 2024
With the winter season bringing blustery and cold weather, we didn’t let that dampen our spirits here at NorthLink Ferries. This month, we opened our period of sponsorship applications and treated our passengers to a special treat for Valentine’s Day. Keep reading to find out more!
Tuesday 6th February:
We were happy to announce that we opened applications for our new sponsorship period from the 1st April to 30th September 2024, with a closing date of Thursday 29th February. Applications received after this date will still be considered, but may take longer to process.
The NorthLink Ferries Sponsorship programme is designed to support a wide range of events, community groups, schools and individuals as they travel to and from the Orkney and Shetland islands through assistance by the way of discounted fares, and the offer of travel vouchers for raffle prizes.
You can apply for sponsorship or find out more information by visiting: https://www.northlinkferries.co.uk/sponsorship/
Monday 12th February:
On the MV Hamnavoe, we recently opened a new dog lounge where passengers can sit with their four-legged friends!
To celebrate this, once a month we are selecting, at random, one of the well-behaved dogs that travel in the dog lounge. The good dog will receive a special NorthLink Ferries dog bandana and also gets a special shout out on our social media.
Well done to Cali the Collie – this month’s Good Dog!
Wednesday 14th February:
In honour of Valentine’s Day, we organised a special treat for our passengers who were sailing with us on any of our ships.
Passengers received a complementary glass of champagne or orange juice, along with a delicious macaron from the patisserie, Almondine, based in Aberdeen. Pictured above is Karen Riddell (Hotel Director) and John Daly (Purser) on board the MV Hrossey preparing to welcome passengers on board. We hope everyone enjoyed their sailing with us!
Thursday 29th February:
To round off the month, we were delighted to welcome TechForce Cyber onboard the ferry in Aberdeen to host their event as part of Cyber Week Scotland.
The event saw talks by speakers Mark McRitchie and Chelsea Jarvie, who shared captivating insights on cyber resilience and real-life cyber attack recovery stories, followed by an engaging Q&A panel session.
