Photo Competition

During the summer of 2014, NorthLink Ferries ran a photographic competition in ‘Northern Lights’, our on-board magazine. The remit was to take a photo of a ferry in a scenic location or a photo from the ferry. The first prize was a return ferry trip for four passengers from Aberdeen to Lerwick with a car, cabin and Magnus’ Lounge vouchers. The second prize was a return ferry trip for four passengers from Scrabster to Stromness with a car and Magnus’ Lounge vouchers. We were delighted with the response – please find a selection of photos below!

NorthLink Ferries puts the “fun” into £7,000 fundraising for The ARCHIE Foundation

From sponsored walks, to abseiling down buildings, the NorthLink Ferries team has done it all in an effort to raise as much money as possible for the organisation. With £7,072.35 now handed over to the charity, The ARCHIE Foundation will be able to continue to provide specialist equipment and staff, create a welcoming hospital environment for families and provide accommodation for parents that need it.

Further accessibility improvements will be made on Scotland’s ferries following the fourth round of awards from the Ferries Accessibility Fund. Almost £80,000 is being awarded to Serco NorthLink Ferries and the National Autistic Society for plans that include the provision of Changing Places facilities on board vessels, as well as specialist equipment and staff training to help autistic passengers.
