The Ultimate Business Show

NorthLink attend the Ultimate Business Show

The Ultimate Business Show was hosted by Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre. This year, it took place on Thursday 17th June.

The show was a sell-out for exhibitor stands and was shaping up to be an excellent networking event. NorthLink Ferries had a stand across from the check-in desk at ‘spot 7’. It turned out to be a very popular stand which attracted plenty of attention with our jigsaw puzzle.

We took along one of our brand new NorthLink Ferries jigsaws and encouraged attendees to place a piece and then sign their name for the chance to win the puzzle!

Throughout the day there were also seminars that delegates could attend. Each seminar covered a different aspect of business and were extremely engaging.

One of the highlights of the event was the Twitter battle. Each organisation along with the attendees were encouraged to tweet during the event. NorthLink Ferries were live tweeting updates on how far along the jigsaw puzzle was. Everyone was also using the #TUBS2016 (The Ultimate Business Show) and between everyone we managed to get the hashtag trending!

As the event came to an end our jigsaw saw its last piece inserted and it was time to announce the winner.

Our winner was Michelle Powell from CLAN but unfortunately she wasn’t able to accept it so instead Pamela Jack (also from CLAN) accepted it on her behalf.

Further accessibility improvements will be made on Scotland’s ferries following the fourth round of awards from the Ferries Accessibility Fund. Almost £80,000 is being awarded to Serco NorthLink Ferries and the National Autistic Society for plans that include the provision of Changing Places facilities on board vessels, as well as specialist equipment and staff training to help autistic passengers.
